Shilin A.M.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A SOCIOLOGICAL APPROACH TO SOCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL: GENESIS AND THESAURUS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Annotation.<\/em><\/strong><em> The article discusses the current issues of studying approaches to social assistance for military personnel in our country, which is an urgent need in light of the evolving political situation both in the Russian Federation and in the world as a whole. The number of people in need of support from both the government and society is growing. Therefore, it is important to analyze the moments that show the emergence of social assistance for military personnel in historical and retrospective perspective, as well as to clarify the terminological aspects related to the concepts of \u00abveteran\u00bb, \u00abmilitary personnel\u00bb, and \u00abcombatant\u00bb, which reflect the thesaurus of the lexical-semantic group \u00abcombat operations\u00bb. The authors of the article have attempted to examine the genesis of this phenomenon and its reflection in legal documents that prescribe certain aspects of social assistance for this category of citizens. A sociological approach involves the use of scientific methods to analyze social reality and focus on mass and repetitive phenomena, which is appropriate for a social phenomenon such as assistance to military personnel and their families during combat operations. The article highlights the parameters that enable social workers to provide assistance, primarily in the form of mediation (identifying the needs of military personnel, veterans, and their families and referring them to institutions that can address these needs).
