Zyzykin, \u00abPatriarch Nikon. His State and Canonical Ideas\u00bb. Based on the introduction to the three-volume work, Zyzykin&#8217;s research methodology, his critique of previous historiography, and the main elements of Patriarch Nikon&#8217;s doctrine on the symphony of powers are reconstructed. Particular attention is paid to the juxtaposition of Nikon and Peter I as two paradigms for legitimizing supreme power: theocratic and absolutist. The conclusion is drawn about the significance of Zyzykin&#8217;s work for modern legal theory.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Key words:<\/em><\/strong> <em>M.V.
