TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS: LEGAL STEREOTYPE AS A KEY RISK FACTOR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Annotation.<\/em><\/strong><em> The relevance of the study is due to the presence of a stable legal stereotype among Russian drivers, which prescribes waiting for police officers at the scene of an accident, even in cases where the law obliges to clear the roadway. The aim of the work is to identify the correlation between following this stereotype and the occurrence of secondary traffic accidents with serious consequences. The subject of the study is the legal attitudes of road users as an element of legal culture. The methodological basis was the analysis of regulatory legal acts, judicial practice, statistical data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the results of a sociological survey of drivers. The study found that the main reason for vehicles being on the roadway after minor accidents is not so much legal illiteracy as an ingrained stereotype reinforced by contradictory law enforcement practices. It is concluded that it is necessary to improve the mechanisms for accounting for secondary accidents and popularize the institute of the European protocol.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Key
