OF THE REALITIES OF RUSSIAN SOCIETY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Annotation.<\/strong><\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>The authors turned to the historical aspect of the evolution of sociological knowledge \u2013 the formation and development of the sociological views of the famous Russian-American <\/em><em>scientist Pitirim Sorokin. His theories had<\/em><em> a great influence on the development of science in the 20th century, giving rise to a special direction \u2013 the consideration of society from the point of view of social mobility. This article examines the sociological legacy of Pitirim Sorokin, which was f<\/em><em>ormed under the influence of the turning points in Russian history at the beginning of the 20th century. It analyzes his contribution to understanding the revolution as a multidimensional social, political, and social phenomenon that affects all spheres of<\/em><em> public life. Special attention is paid to the key factors that caused the revolutionary upheavals in Russia, such as social inequality and the psychological characteristics of revolutionaries and the masses. Special attention is paid to the phenomenon of <\/em><em>social mobility, a sociological concept that was introduced and thoroughly studied by Pitirim Sorokin. The authors conclude that the scientific legacy of this eminent scholar is significant for both society and sociological knowledge in the 21st century, a<\/em><em>s he foresaw contemporary processes such as globalization, moral relativism, and radical religious movements. He developed the concept of an integral sociocultural system that would replace the previous system, ultimately leading to an integral humanistic-<\/em><em>noospheric<\/em><em>
