PAST<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>AND DESIGNING THE FUTURE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Annotation.<\/strong><\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>The article deals with topical issues of ethnic identification of the people, determined by socio-cultural parameters, the leading of which is the cultural code of the nation. The author theoretically comprehended th<\/em><em>e essence and role of this concept, considering the cultural code as the main trend in the socio-cultural development of a people (understood as a special ethnic community characterized by such parameters as ethnic identity, self-designation, the degree of<\/em><em> clarity of distinctive features from other nations, the stability of existence, individual socio-cultural features). The article highlights the importance of national self-determination in this particular era of globalization, which affects all spheres of<\/em><em> society&#8217;s existence: political, economic, cultural, social, and so on. The author has profoundly and evidently characterized the main factors influencing the construction of the future of the nation, understood as a historically formed community of
