It provides a historical overview of the formation of empirical sociology and traces the key stages in the development of this discipline. The article emphasizes the importance of empirical methods in sociology, which allow obtaining objective data about social phenomena and processes. The authors consider the main types of methods used in empirical research, dividing them into qualitative and quantitative. The article also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of each method, as well as their application to the analysis of various social problems.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Key
